Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use OffstageHub. Customers and performers each have their own terms, which apply depending on how you use the platform.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

1. About these Terms

1.1

These Terms apply to you if you sign up to OffstageHub as a performer or workshop leader ("Performer", "you") to advertise and deliver workshops and sessions in theatre, dance and other performing arts ("Workshops") to customers who book through the platform ("Customers").

1.2

Customers book under our separate Customer Terms and Conditions ("Customer Terms"). When a Customer's booking is confirmed, you and the Customer enter into a contract with each other on the Customer Terms and your Workshop listing. Please read the Customer Terms, as they set out the cancellation, refund, safeguarding and liability rules that will apply to your bookings.

1.3

You accept these Terms by ticking the acceptance box when you create your account. You must be at least 18 and legally able to provide your services in the UK.

2. Your relationship with OffstageHub

2.1

You are an independent, self-employed professional. You are not an employee, worker or agent of OffstageHub. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership or employment relationship between us.

2.2

You decide which booking requests to accept, which Workshops to list, what to charge, and how to deliver your Workshops within the brief agreed with the Customer. We do not promise you any minimum number of bookings or amount of income.

2.3

You are responsible for your own tax affairs, including registering with HMRC, declaring your income and, if required, registering for and charging VAT.

2.4

OffstageHub provides the platform and collects payments from Customers on your behalf. Payment by a Customer to us counts as payment to you.

3. Your account and profile

3.1

You must make sure that all information on your profile and Workshop listings is accurate, complete and up to date at all times. This includes your name, experience, qualifications, Workshop descriptions, prices, the areas you travel to, your photos, and any statements about checks or insurance.

3.2

DBS and other checks. You may state on your profile that you hold a DBS check (or an equivalent check, such as PVG or AccessNI). You must only do this if it is true and current. You must remove or update the statement promptly if the check lapses, is withdrawn or changes, and you must tell us if that happens. OffstageHub does not verify these statements, and Customers are told they must check them for themselves. Be ready to show your certificate and identification to Customers when asked.

3.3

Insurance. We do not require you to hold public liability insurance and we do not check whether you do. You are responsible for deciding what insurance you need, and we strongly recommend public liability insurance. Many Customers, schools and venues will ask to see evidence of cover before booking. If you say on your profile or to a Customer that you hold insurance, it must be true.

3.4

You must keep your login details confidential and not share them. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Booking requests and confirmed bookings

4.1

When a Customer sends a booking request, you may accept or decline it. If you do not respond 48 hours before the requested workshop date, the request lapses automatically.

4.2

If you accept, we send the Customer an invoice with a payment link. Until the Customer has paid, the booking is not confirmed and you may release the date to someone else. A booking becomes a confirmed booking ("Confirmed Booking") only when we have received the Customer's payment in cleared funds.

4.3

Once a booking is confirmed, you must honour it. You must attend at the agreed time and place and deliver the Workshop as described in your listing and the agreed brief.

4.4

You are a trader for consumer law purposes when you deal with Customers who are consumers, and you must comply with consumer law. We display the information required for bookings on the platform.

4.5

Customers may cancel a Confirmed Booking for a full refund up to 48 hours before the Workshop, as set out in the Customer Terms. This means your date is only certain from 48 hours before the Workshop. We are not responsible for any other work you turn down or any other loss because a Customer cancels within the permitted time.

5. Fees, travel charges and taxes

5.1

Your Workshop Price. You set the price of each Workshop (the "Workshop Price"). This is the price shown on your listing.

5.2

Our service fee. For each Confirmed Booking, we charge you a service fee of 10% of the Workshop Price (the "Service Fee"). We deduct the Service Fee from the payment before it is paid out to you. Customers do not pay the Service Fee separately, as it is included in what they pay.

5.3

No fee on travel. We do not charge any Service Fee on travel charges. If you charge for travel, the travel charge is paid to you in full.

5.4

Example. If your Workshop Price is £100 and the Customer also pays a £20 travel charge, the Service Fee is £10 (10% of £100), and no fee is taken on the £20. You are paid £120 less the £10 fee, so £120 - £10 = £110. Before any payment processing fees.

5.5

Refunds. If a Customer is refunded in full, no Service Fee is due. If a Customer cancels less than 48 hours before the Workshop and is not refunded, you are paid as normal.

5.6

Payment processing fees. Our Service Fee includes the cost of payment processing, so you receive the full Workshop Price less 10% and the full travel charge.

5.7

Travel charges. Any travel charge must be a genuine, reasonable estimate of the cost of you travelling to and from the venue. It must not be used to add a hidden fee.

5.8

Tax. All prices you set must include any VAT that applies. Our Service Fee is inclusive of VAT where applicable.

5.9

Changes to the fee. We may change the Service Fee by giving you at least 30 days notice by email. A change does not apply to Confirmed Bookings made before the change takes effect.

6. Getting paid

6.1

Setting up payouts. Payments are processed by Stripe. To be paid, you must create and keep a valid Stripe account, pass Stripe's verification checks and accept Stripe's terms. You must give us accurate bank, tax and identity details.

6.2

When you can withdraw. Your earnings for a Confirmed Booking (the Workshop Price less the Service Fee, plus any travel charge) become available for you to withdraw 5 days after the date of the Workshop. How long a withdrawal then takes to reach your bank depends on Stripe and your bank.

6.3

Statements. Your account will show, for each booking, the Workshop Price, travel charge, Service Fee and amount paid to you.

6.4

Reporting to tax authorities. The law may require us to collect information about you and your earnings and report it to HMRC or other authorities. You must give us the information we ask for, and we may share it as the law requires.

7. Bookings must stay on the platform

7.1

Once a booking request has been made through OffstageHub, or a booking has been confirmed through the platform, you must complete that booking through OffstageHub. You must not:

  • •agree, accept or take payment for that same booking outside the platform;
  • •ask, encourage or allow the Customer to cancel the booking and re-book or pay outside the platform (including for a replacement date) in order to avoid the Service Fee; or
  • •do anything else to avoid paying the Service Fee on that booking.
7.2

A Customer who cancels through the platform in line with the Customer Terms and then makes a new booking request through the platform is not a breach of this clause.

7.3

If you breach this clause, we may suspend or close your account and may withhold payments due to you. You must also pay us the Service Fee we would have received on the booking as a fair measure of the loss we suffer.

8. Delivering Workshops

8.1

You must deliver each Workshop with reasonable skill and care, on time and in line with your listing and the agreed brief.

8.2

If you cannot attend a Confirmed Booking, tell the Customer and us straight away. The Customer will receive a full refund (including travel), and you will not be paid for that booking. If you cancel repeatedly, or at short notice without a good reason, we may suspend or close your account.

9. Complaints and disputes

9.1

We will tell you about any complaint or concern raised about a Workshop, and you must cooperate with our reasonable enquiries and respond within 3 working days.

9.2

If a Workshop was not delivered as agreed, we may refund the Customer in full or in part and deduct that amount from your payout. We will consider your response before we decide, but our decision on refunds paid through the platform is final, subject to any legal rights you have.

10. Liability

10.1

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

10.2

You are responsible to Customers for the Workshops you deliver. We are not a party to your contract with the Customer and are not responsible for it.

10.3

You must compensate us for losses, claims and reasonable legal costs we suffer because of your breach of these Terms, false or misleading information on your profile, or your negligence or misconduct.

10.4

Subject to clause 10.1, our total liability to you under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the Service Fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for lost bookings, loss of income or profit, or any indirect or consequential loss, and we do not guarantee that the platform will always be available.

11. Your content

11.1

You keep the rights in your profile content, photographs and Workshop materials. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and use them to run and promote the platform, including on our website and social media.

11.2

You confirm that you have the rights to everything you upload and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights.

12. Data protection

12.1

You will receive personal data about Customers and participants. You are responsible for that data and must use it only to deliver the Workshop, keep it secure, delete it when it is no longer needed, and comply with data protection law (including UK GDPR). Tell us promptly if you lose any personal data or suspect a data breach. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

13. Suspension and ending your account

13.1

You can close your account at any time. You must still honour any Confirmed Bookings, or cancel them so that Customers are refunded.

13.2

We may suspend or close your account immediately if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, give false information (including about checks or insurance), breach clause 7, or if we have a safeguarding or conduct concern about you.

13.3

When your account closes, we will pay out any earnings due to you, subject to our rights in clause 6.3. Clauses that are meant to continue after closure (including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10 and 12) will do so.

14. Changes to these Terms

14.1

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will tell you about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you continue to use OffstageHub after that date, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can close your account.

15. General

15.1

These Terms, together with any policies we link to, are the whole agreement between us about your use of OffstageHub.

15.2

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.

15.3

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another business. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.

15.4

Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms (Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999).

15.5

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

By creating a performer account, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Performer Terms & Conditions.
