Privacy Policy
How OffstageHub collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: 16 August 2026
1. Introduction
OffstageHub ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our platform to discover, request, and book theatre workshops.
This policy applies to all users of OffstageHub, including Customers who book workshops and Performers who offer them.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored securely and encrypted). When you register, we also collect your chosen role (Customer or Performer).
Booking information: details you provide when requesting a workshop, including the participant name, participant email, workshop address, age range of participants, and any notes you share with the Performer.
Performer profile information: display name, biography, photo, training background, social media links, location, availability, and DBS check status that Performers choose to publish on their public profile.
Payment information: payments are processed securely through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details — only transaction references and payment status.
Communications: messages sent between Customers and Performers through the OffstageHub messaging system, and email notifications we send you about bookings and account activity.
3. How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account and to verify your identity.
To process booking requests, generate invoices, and facilitate payments between Customers and Performers.
To send you notifications about your bookings, including booking confirmations, invoices, reminders, and messages.
To display Performer profiles publicly so that Customers can discover and book workshops.
To provide admin oversight of bookings for support, dispute resolution, and platform integrity.
To comply with our legal obligations and to enforce our Terms & Conditions.
4. Sharing Your Information
Performers can see the booking details provided by a Customer (name, email, address, age range, notes) for the workshops they are asked to deliver.
Customers can see a Performer’s public profile information, including any DBS certificate status the Performer has chosen to share.
We share payment data with Stripe, our payment processor, solely to facilitate transactions. Stripe processes this data under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share data with authorities where required by law.
5. Data Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
Passwords are stored in encrypted form. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel and platform administrators only.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies
OffstageHub uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use the platform.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, and object to certain processing.
You may also request that we restrict the processing of your data or transfer it to another service.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact OffstageHub support.
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
8. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active.
Booking and payment records are retained for as long as necessary to provide our services, resolve disputes, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
Messages between Users are retained for the lifetime of the related booking and may be deleted after a booking is completed and no dispute is open.
9. Children’s Privacy
Workshops may be booked for participants under 18, but accounts on OffstageHub must be created and managed by an adult (the Customer).
When booking for participants under 13, the Customer is responsible for providing accurate age information and for ensuring appropriate consent and supervision.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. DBS Checks
Performers may choose to display their Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check status on their public profile to build trust with Customers.
Displaying a DBS status is voluntary. OffstageHub displays the status provided by the Performer but does not independently verify or warrant its accuracy. Customers are encouraged to carry out their own due diligence.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version in force at the time you use the platform applies to your use of OffstageHub.
We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page. Continued use of OffstageHub after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
